I wanted to play in this before running for my own players, but after playing in it, I don't think it matches the play style of any of the groups I'm in. I think it's a good one-shot, but that's about it. Not good for inserting into an ongoing campaign. The potential for a TPK with this scenario is high.
I still had fun though.
=== SPOILER SECTION START ===
It's basically a survival horror game with a high chance of TPK. No backup characters, so if you get killed early, you're out of the game.
The creature is new, but the tropes are familiar: PCs are isolated, far away from help, stalked by a creature. What's disappointing is that if you search the whole ship, there are no clues (there's actually one that doesn't really help the players in any manner, so I don't really count it), just opportunities for SAN loss.
In the game I played in, the GM told us after the game the creature had 250 HPs. I read the full scenario a day later and found the creature actually had 45 HPs and armor stoppage of 5, so we actually did hurt it very much (I think we did about 65 pts and so it should have been very near dead) whereas in the game we played in, the GM told us that bullets didn't seem to do anything, and it was seemingly invulnerable. Also during play, I noticed the GM was a bit weak on 7th Ed rules.
We did finish exactly in 4 hours, but we only explored the 1st floor and the 5th of the Derelict, then the creature showed up, so I think if the PCs totally explored the ship, it would have taken more than 6 hours to complete the scenario.
